My Photography Gear
My progression in photography gear has been slow and steady. As I have gotten more serious about my passion, I have invested in many camera lenses, bodies and accessories. Here is a list of my favorite photo gear that makes my work possible.
Camera - Canon 6D mark II
I have shot with many camera bodies over the years. I started with a canon T2I, moved up to a Canon 70D, and I currently shoot with the 6D mark II. It has been incredibly reliable over the years, and It handles even the most challenging situations like rain and snow.
Lens 1 - Canon 24-105 f/4 L
90% of my images are shot on this lens. It is one of the cheaper professional level lenses with an incredibly useful focal range. Best of all, it is tack sharp. This lens has become my daily driver for all of my photography needs.
Lens 2 - Tamron 15-30 f/2.8 Wide Angle
A wide angle lens is a must have. I chose this one for its large aperture and image stabilization. This lens has worked incredibly for hand held shots at night (Usually on rooftops). I can shoot at 1/10th of a second on this lens hand held, while maintaining a sharp image.
Lens 3 - Sigma 150-600 Telephoto
On the other end of the spectrum, I love to have a long telephoto lens to create interesting compression in images. I started with a canon 150-300, but that wasn’t quite long enough for me. I love being able to zoom all the way in to 600mm on this lens.
Printer - Canon Pro 100
It was a hard decision to move from printing online to printing myself. It took months of deliberation and research, and I landed on the Canon Pro 100. I have been very impressed with the print quality, and ease of use.
Tripod - Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod
I bounced around super cheap tripods for the first few years of shooting, and it was incredibly frustrating. It is tempting to save money here, because camera bodies and lenses can be so expensive, but investing in a nice tripod can make taking photos much more enjoyable.
